My apartment was beautiful close enough to city centre, Sunderland football ground and train station. It was excellent on a large park.

I recently stayed at Ellison Hall for a few nights with a group of friends. The location was convenient enough for us, and taxis were affordable. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep after a night out. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained. The mansion house itself was grand and impressive, with ample parking and modern bathrooms and kitchens. I was even impressed with the management's honesty and integrity when they found and returned my lost watch.
I do recommend this hotel.

When booking the house appeared grand with large rooms, lots of space and there was wifi.
On arriving the house appeared very run down. The windows were filthy, the out door space was over grown and containers for plants were full only of weeds. Not really what I was expecting. Inside was a bit better the rooms were large and the amount of space was great. But once again the owners let themselves down as the beds were cheap and the bedding was worse. One very cheap pillow each and a duvet that was made of a paper stuff, the duvet cover was torn. No mirrors in bed rooms and it was stated there would be a hairdryer, never found that! The lounge area had 2 small sofas. Which very hard and uncomfortable. A dusty tv unit and dirty glass table. The wifi only worked within this room. The kitcken was fine and appeared clean. Although there was no tea and coffee as stated only a bowl of sugar! The bathrooms were clean and the showers good. But really is there any need for sign about keeping towels clean and flushing the toilet!!! This place did not live up to my expectations and will not be staying again or recommending.

Place was impressive and right next to St John's. En suite rooms overall with the inside bedroom, more TV in the apartment, for example.
Didn't find lamp.

The accommodation was spacious that is all I am able to compliment
We had no heating and no hot water The manager organised some one to come and look, he temporarily fixed it. Promised it would be looked at next day. It was not and no explanation or follow up from anyone
